Mount Rushmore National Memorial

Landmark | Landscape: 10-year Commemorative Model

When I started to think of a model that could commemorate my ten-year milestone, I knew I had to find a subject both truly representative of my works’ titular ideas and, ideally, a place to which I have a meaningful and emotional connection. Having visited Mount Rushmore numerous times growing up, I thought immediately of the history of the monument. There’s certainly the American history it represents. Then there’s my history of experiencing this monument; South Dakota road trips; pot roast in the Carver’s Café; family pictures on the Grand View Terrace; walks up and down the Presidential Trail; staying for the evening show at the amphitheater. I take comfort and inspiration in knowing that ten years on – and half a million pieces later – sometimes it takes a few looks backward to take one huge leap forward!

I HIGHLY encourage you to read through the descriptions of each high-res image on my Flickr page.

Dedicated to my parents & my brothers: our adventures together are the bedrock of my inspiration.

LEGO House Masterpiece Gallery

From one Harry Potter set at the age of six, to the Masterpiece Gallery of the LEGO House in Billund; I'd say my heart and soul are in the art I make and exhibit, but I think they're more so with the people I've met and the unimaginable opportunities that have come as a result!️

My layout of Chicago's Magnificent Mile will be on display in the Masterpiece Gallery of the LEGO House in Billund, Denmark for the next year!
