LEGO World Copenhagen!

SURPRISE - I'm in Copenhagen for LEGO World!  Normally, I would have brought about sixty models with me, but I settled instead for the chance to sign sixty of the CPH Skyline set I designed, for sixty very deserving exhibitors of the Fan Zone. A huge thank-you to Jan Smed and Line Ann La Cour for making this Fan Zone surprise possible!

Transamerica Pyramid, San Francisco

Transamerica Pyramid, San Francisco - my final model of 2018! Of all the things I've learned this year, perhaps the fact that there are more than 915,000,000 ways to combine six 2x4 LEGO bricks is the most profound. That's about all I needed to know when I started to question whether this model was even possible! In the end, I used a few more than six bricks, which must mean there are infinitely more ways to make it at this scale! 😉 Anyway, thanks for a fantastic 2018, and I'm looking forward to an even better 2019!

CN Tower, Toronto

CN Tower, Toronto; my latest, but also one of my oldest. I made the tower back in 2010, and finally got around to designing a proper base for it in the last few weeks.

You can see more images and read detailed descriptions about the real building and the model on my Flickr.

Highland Park Place - Commission

My latest commission model, Highland Park Place, consists of more than 1,100 pieces and was commissioned as a Christmas present for one of the building's developers.

Highland Park Place is an eighteen-story highrise located in the Knox Henderson District in Dallas. Since it was completed in 1984, the building has offered more than 164,000 sq ft of office space and it is currently owned by KBS Realty Advisors.

Tyler Technologies Commission

A couple weeks ago, I traveled to Minneapolis to install my largest commission yet; a sculpture and live-build mosaic for Tyler Technologies at a trade show. The sculpture was a yellow "80" to celebrate the company's eightieth anniversary and the live-build was assembled by the attendees out of 384 8x8 sections made up of 24,576 individual 1x1 bricks! Certainly outside of my typical architectural purview, but I'm happier for it having learned some completely new workflows!

LEGO House Masterpiece Gallery

From one Harry Potter set at the age of six, to the Masterpiece Gallery of the LEGO House in Billund; I'd say my heart and soul are in the art I make and exhibit, but I think they're more so with the people I've met and the unimaginable opportunities that have come as a result!️

My layout of Chicago's Magnificent Mile will be on display in the Masterpiece Gallery of the LEGO House in Billund, Denmark for the next year!
